Lijo Philip

Born and educated in Kuwait, graduated from Cyprus and currently residing in Poland, Lijo Philip has lived a good part of his life across Middle East/Asia (18yrs) and the latter half in Europe (25yrs). Currently, he is a Bulgarian citizen, a permanent resident of Poland and an OCI card holder.


Staying true to his origin and roots, Lijo Philip is one of the first to export the Kerala

culture to Poland. Businesswise, he has multiple ventures ranging from beer production (Kalikut1498), a Kerala cuisine restaurant (K2K) and most recently, a Kerala Cash and Carry grocery store, all primarily located in Krakow. All his employees are Malayalis ensuring he also does his part to empowering the Malayali youth.


Additionally, along with Alex Kuncheria and Sreenath Govindan, Lijo Philip provides

directional leadership and oversight for the growth of the Krakow Malayalees

community.


Professionally, Lijo Philip currently serves as the Director of Programs and Projects for a Legal tech firm Factor Law in Wroclaw, with headquarters in NewYork. Prior to that, he was working in HSBC, Krakow and Italy as a Senior Programme and Project

Services Manager. He has diversified experience in various industries ranging from

steel, investment brokerage, ecommerce and financial services.


Academically, Lijo Philip completed his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in Cyprus and earned his MBA from Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands. He also is a certified Project Management Practioner (PMP), IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Agile Safe and holds a Six Sigma Yellow Belt. Currently, he has completed his Phd.studies at the Cracow University of Economies and is waiting for his dissertation presentation. His dissertation is on the “Critical Success Factors for Polish Startups”. He has 3 publications in respected business journals on the subjects of “Mobile Banking” and “Grey Economy”.


Familywise, he is married to Kamila Wozniak-Philip, who he met in Bulgaria and has two sons, Aleksander and Dominik.
